A wellness app built for local minds.
Zenspun is a mental wellness app designed for Romania’s Gen Z users, blending local cultural relevance with a modern, mobile-first experience. Built around a freemium model, the prototype we made covers the full user journey—from onboarding to freemium limitations and premium upgrade. The design balances calm, playful visuals with thoughtful UX choices, encouraging daily use while maintaining a safe, welcoming space. It’s a bold take on what mental health apps could look like when crafted with intention and a clear local focus.
The challenge
While Artone has a strong portfolio of product work, most of it leaned toward web platforms. Zenspun was created as an internal concept to showcase our ability to design native mobile experiences with the same level of craft and strategic thinking. We identified a gap in the Romanian mental health space for Gen Z—a demographic underserved by current solutions that often feel generic or overly clinical. Zenspun imagines what a therapy app could look like when built specifically for this audience, with cultural context, modern UX and a real human connection through an integrated psychologist marketplace.
Our process
We ran a focused three-day sprint to take the idea from scratch to a polished, interactive concept. Everything—from product direction to UX flows, UI execution and Figma prototyping—was handled in-house. We explored ways to make the experience approachable and intuitive, while still supporting a full range of features, including onboarding, free vs. premium flows, home dashboard, meditation browsing and more. Visually, we leaned into soft, playful elements that resonate with a younger audience, without compromising clarity or functionality. Every detail was tailored to feel fresh, local and relevant.
The outcome
Zenspun is a clean, thoughtful mobile experience that stands out from the typical one-size-fits-all therapy apps. It combines purpose-driven product thinking with playful yet calming design, making the concept feel both credible and engaging. Beyond showcasing mobile UI capabilities, this project reflects our ability to move fast, design with empathy, and think like founders. It’s a glimpse into how we help startups turn ideas into real, usable products—even when the timeline is tight.
