Open is a platform that helps companies build AI copilots for customer support. These copilots integrate directly into support workflows, understand context and respond with accuracy, helping teams resolve tickets faster and more efficiently, without the need for complex setups.
We worked with Open as a long-term design partner, across 6 months supporting them first on their early product and landing page, then again through their pivot into AI copilots for support. The trust they placed in us across both phases reflects the strength of our partnership and the impact of our work.
The challenge
We had previously worked with Open on earlier iterations of their product. When they rebranded from OpenCopilot to Open, they were shifting from a broad AI agents solution to a clearly defined customer support use case. They had a strong technical foundation but no product yet. The founder had the vision, but it needed to be translated into a real, usable platform.
Our role was to take that vision and design it from the ground up — defining structure, flows, and UI screens from scratch. We weren’t polishing something existing. We were creating the product experience that laid the foundation for their pivot and eventual growth.
Our process
For the pivoted product, we worked in a focused one-month sprint.
We collaborated closely with the founder, defining structure, simplifying user flows, and designing every screen end-to-end. By moving fast and iterating together, we quickly transformed raw ideas into a complete, usable product that was ready for launch.
The outcome
The result was a fully designed product that felt clear, modern and ready for market. The new platform communicated its value more effectively, supported key customer use cases and was easier to navigate from the first interaction.
After launch, Open raised $1.52M in pre-seed funding, led by Y Combinator with participation from Spacetime (investment office of Mollie’s and Bird founder), Koen Köppen (CEO of Mollie), Pioneer Fund, and others. Soon after, they began onboarding major clients including MoneyGram, Mollie, and Viva.com.
Beyond results, this project highlights the strength of a true design partnership. Open trusted us through multiple stages of their journey, and together we turned vision into reality, creating a product trusted by investors and adopted by leading companies.
